The first feature identifies natural sources of various nutrients and compounds present in our food supply, including many often overlooked by other sources. For example, it covers oxalate—associated with kidney stones and other health issues—purine, which can contribute to joint pain and gout—Myo-Inositol, beneficial for conditions such as PCOS—pesticides, a significant risk factor for cancer—glycemic index, gluten, mercury, probiotics, prebiotics, ALA, beta-glucan, biotin, boron, chloride, chromium, CoQ10, iodine, molybdenum, silicon, sulfur, tyramine, vanadium, among others. This feature enables users to discover the primary sources of these crucial nutrients and substances—some beneficial and others potentially harmful—allowing for better-informed dietary choices.

The second feature offers a comprehensive database of nutrient content for approximately 900 natural food items. It provides guidance on whether the amount of each nutrient present is significant or meaningful. While many food products are required by law to list limited nutrient information, this data often omits numerous other important nutrients and substances like those mentioned earlier. Notably, the USDA— a primary reference source—does not report on these additional nutrients and substances.

In the current landscape where food-as-medicine is frequently emphasized by various vendors and organizations, the interpretation can be broad—ranging from concerns about food security to acknowledging the role of nutrition in health. Unlike generalized claims, Personal Remedies adopts a targeted approach: identifying specific foods that can serve as "medicine" for particular illnesses or individual health contexts.
